Just following Orders: A lesson on Obedience
Obedience is something that is difficult for all of us to do. Obeying our parents, authority, older siblings, and even God. The truth is when God tells us to do something, we need to OBEY and do it. Our example was Jonah who was told to deliver a message but decided to do the opposite. Sometimes God tells us things through the bible and through our times talking to Him that we may not agree with or think is kind of strange, but we need to still obey. God always knows what He’s doing and he wants whats best for us and for others. God is with us everywhere we go and when we obey his word we stay in the umbrella of protection, we stay in the Hiding place. Just like he did with Jonah, God chases after us. Instead of avoiding God, we need to turn to him in our hearts and minds as we go about our day, asking him what He would have us be and do. When we obey what God says:
When we stop running and disobeying his word, suddenly we wonder why we ever wasted so much time not doing what God wanted and we realize that we were trying to avoid what is really our life’s biggest blessing. Jesus showed us what it means to obey, we can do it by following what His word has to say!

A Letter From Us…
Have your kids join our team…All 4th and 5th graders
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus gives us the mission to “make disciples”. At Gateway Fellowship, as well as in KidzRock kids ministry, we believe that our greatest discipleship opportunity is our children. If we are to mentor our children and have them develop a life-long desire to serve Christ and others, we need to start now! We are inviting you to consider having your child join our KidzRock Krew. The KidzRock leadership team will guide and challenge Krew members as they dig deeper into God’s Word and into a personal relationship with their Creator. We will also offer training in the different areas of ministry that interest your child- including praying with peers, performing sketches, and operating media equipment. Attached is more information about this new team. Please discuss the details with your Kidz Rock children. We are so excited to see their passion for the Lord and will be happy to have them join our team!
Bibles, Bibles, Bibles
If you missed the last message about your kids and bible please check out the 10-9-11 blog about why we want your kids to have a bible and some help in picking the right one.
